RIP Motor Authority, the Car Connection, Green Car Reports

Definitely sorry to hear this. I used to syndicate their content when I was with Sinclair Broadcast Group. It was always top quality, and the guys who work there are all awesome. But, yeah, diversification matters.

I know that Honda had/is having a media drive in Puerto Rico (I think), but we weren't invited. It either happened earlier this month or is happening imminently. When they do the media drives, they typically go on sale within a couple weeks.

What's new on the 2025 GMC Sierra?

I think it's bigger than licensing fees. I think they also want to set the stage for subscriptions. Apple CarPlay is free to the user. But the new Google built-in system comes with a subscription fee, which right now is after an 8-year trial. But if GM can convince current owners that they...

What's new on the 2025 GMC Sierra?

It's not automakers plural. It's just one: GM. And people are still buying their EVs, even without CarPlay, so maybe they aren't wrong? The only way GM will relent and add back in CarPlay is if people stop buying their products. But as long as they make $$, they ignore the dissenters.

What's new on the 2025 GMC Sierra?

In two words: Not much. There are a couple minor changes as this truck is heading into its final two years. New wheels. New standard features. That's it. In this article, we also take a look at what we expect for the next-gen truck that should come out next year as a 2027 model. The two biggest...

Here’s how Trump Tariffs will impact your new truck purchase

They have to stay in competition with each other, but they also need to make $$. Trucks are traditionally the biggest money makers for OEMs, so there is probably a little wiggle room. But I think that $4k to $10k takes into account the wiggle. Consider that a base work truck costs about $40k...

Here’s how Trump Tariffs will impact your new truck purchase

IKR?! If I were an automaker, I'd preemptively start raising prices. Not a lot, but just enough to start getting people used to the idea. If the tariffs eventually go through, we're talking $4k to $10k price increases per vehicle.

    Trump tariffs, March 4 update

Hi, all ... We posted a tariff update to the website. The TL;DR: Yes, the U.S. could create and sustain an in-house automotive industry, but it will take decades and hundreds of billions of dollars to do. In the short term (aka the next 10 to 20 years), prices on vehicles increase and nobody...

Here’s how Trump Tariffs will impact your new truck purchase

That's actually an interesting angle. Not sure if we know the exact answer to that yet. But I think the short answer is: all prices go up. We are so co-dependent on our trade partners. No one wins here. Just pushed out another story about how this impacts the industry, but didn't dig into tires...

Jill featured on The Daily Dot

Yeah. I saw it in my Google News feed. Apparently, my brother-in-law saw it in Apple News. This is the second story they've posted about one of my TikTok's, so someone is clearly "stalking" me there. I wouldn't be surprised if this is AI generated, frankly. Though I will say the writer did send...

Former Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis returns immediately in another shakeup

This is great news, but enter the killjoy: While I know a lot of enthusiasts would like to see a V-8 engine return or a supercharged TRX, I think that ship has sailed. The ship was pulling away from the pier before Kuniskis retired, and with product planning cycles the way they are, I don't...

Ram 1500 RHO reviews are rolling out!

It's many different things. Handling is super smooth. Visibility is great out of all the windows. Adjustable pedals are incredibly helpful. The seats are comfortable for the long haul -- think 10 hours a day for 8 days. Plus, it can jump like a rock star and feels fairly nimble in highway driving.

Hi, all ... the embargo lifted today on the Ram 1500 RHO, so I wanted to make sure you saw couple of stories Tim and I pushed out. First, Tim's post comparing the RHO to the TRX, and why he likes <fill in the blank> better...

    RHO RIDE AND DRIVE EVENT???

Tim and I are both in MI right now to drive the truck tomorrow. Though, of course, I've already been in the truck for more than a week because of Rebelle. Embargo lifts next Tuesday.
