Parenting can be trying, but so rewarding...Hope you recover ahead of schedule and can enjoy Fire Island National Seashore or Robert Moses State Park this Summer.

Sold the Silverado for a ... loss?

"my oldest decided to upgrade his 2008 F-150 to a 2013 F-150 On August 31st." Just a thought, but if he had the $$$ to upgrade without your apparent assistance, he has the $$$ to pay for the insurance...Or did he not factor this in and expects the parents to pay for it at 21?

Do you even like the TFL guys?

I think their fandom comes from wanting to stay on the Blue Oval's good side after the assembly line photo flap put them in Ford's Dog House for the better part of a year...Not sure if Subaru still considers them persona non grata. They leveraged a unique attribute in their area, The...

Sold the Silverado for a ... loss?

Here I was thinking that the opening line used over at C&B, i.e "owned by (insert adjective here) You Tuber" was the shoo-in to price stratification. I guess that only applies to Mr. Hoover, as he has a lot of non-automotive "items" he has budget for now...🦊

Round Two, from today, So now we have a GMT 900 (Suburban) next to another red (what is it with red Canyon's where I work?) GMT 31XX-2 Canyon AT4, Yes, the Canyon is lifted 2" standard and in keeping with the styling trend brought on by German cars responding to EU pedestrian regulations...

Sold the Silverado for a ... loss?

Have you considered trying something like Cars and Bids to get a better price than what you can get locally on Strong Island or from Carvana? https://carsandbids.com/search/ford/maverick

Who says pickups have gotten bigger?

(IIRC) Was off to a meeting in another building with my co-worker (His Hyundai is the car on the right) and only had a chance to take the one shot.

    Love/hate on third gen Tundra

Took this a couple of days ago. Many focus on the grille/ "mustache"surround, but how far the roof panel goes downing the front and how much it "bulges" up caught my eye, in a negative fashion. This particular truck pulled out and in side profile, the roof bulge still caught my eye. It...

Who says pickups have gotten bigger?

Sorry for the small image, largest that will upload. Took this almost eight years ago when the 2nd Gen Canyon (GMT 31XX) was relatively new and it was parked next to an OBS GMT 400 with the same aspect (facing out). Not as wide for sure, but it's height and smaller field of front view...

Congrats on Your New Ram Tim

Thanks for the info Tim,the "inside baseball" stuff really sets your channel apart from the others. I have some Ram thoughts based on experience, but will keep to myself until you get the truck (to see if you have some of the same observations). Ram Boxes? My '12 'Lanche says "been there...

Congrats on Your New Ram Tim

Real enthusiasm in the video, but curious (again) on a few things: - You alluded to the business income wasn't as big in 2023 compared to previous years, so the new truck purchase wasn't in the cards as a deduction...Also, in previous years, you had to divest of the previous truck and buy the...

    No excitement for Frontier?

Tim, curious what are the "Garage Metric" dimensions the manufacturers use? The default "stub" garage used by so many builders from the 90s on appears to be waning a bit, but is still very predominant.

    Help with first Truck Purchase?

Not to be too contrarian, but it would seem an SUV would be a better choice unless you are dual using the vehicle and need the bed for work. Sure it is nice to have a bed for gear and logs, but you don't want to have your dog bowl, diaper bag, large stroller, and other child needs in a bed...

    No excitement for Frontier?

Between this and the Silverado EV higher trims, the mid-gate makes a return; people pan it, but I am glad I didn't buy the '21 GMC Sierra Pro Crew Cab with the 5.75 ft bed and 4300 Ecotec I was looking at, but waited to find my my eventual under 30K mile 'Lanche. Putting long table/wood in as...

Thought on the long term test trucks

Tim's long terms, the they make financial sense, are usually only a year due to the tax write off rules. I can see wiper blades/air filters/oil filters oil and any labor if he doesn't do it himself on the oil changes, but brake pads and batteries should not wear out in a year on a new truck.

    No excitement for Frontier?

Tim's latest on a Nissan Patent which may apply to the Frontier: https://image-ppubs.uspto.gov/dirsearch-public/print/downloadPdf/11866100?fbclid=IwAR3pHUW65LTeIdPJ3OreMiYaOZrZ-23uPvno0No08pdqUS5BmvtLwl36LgQ If it reaches production, the "cargo box frame" over the bed will not be removable...

Do you even like the TFL guys?

First my apologies; the homework comment, while intended to persuade you to not dismiss the RAM 2500 Cummins for purchase, came out (in hindsight) to be snarky and that was not my intent. I will do better. For fear of doubling down on a poor turn of phrase, you get an A+ for the great level of...

    Bought YouTube subs

Man, Roman must be paying a fortune for the subs...:ROFLMAO: Seriously, people rationalize their behavior for perceived gain...Most times it doesn't end well. At least he admitted it, so there is some hope for their integrity.
