    Most comfortable seats?

Comfort is a subjective call and needs to be balanced with the support the seat provides. My couch is more comfortable than my office chair, but the office chair provides better support than my couch. For me, the most comfortable seat for driving is one that strikes a ballance between the two...

    Truck Purchase GM vs Toyota

First time diesel owner but my understanding is that the exhaust system needs to reach a temp of 1100 - 1200 °F during regen to complete the burn of process. Driving at 40 mph would make it easier to maintain that temp long enough to complete the regen, but to the best of my knowledge there is...

    Truck Purchase GM vs Toyota

24 AT4 3.0L with 20" AT's. Daily drive is a 6 mile each way commute to work, plus some additional sort runs running errands. Weekends typically includes longer 40 - 50 mile drives. I'd consider all of this to be city driving and I'm averaging 23 - 24 mpg. I recently completed two 700 mile runs...

    Truck Purchase GM vs Toyota

I have no issues with fit and finish on my 24 AT4 3.0L. Just over 6000 miles, and other than a single CEL, that cleared itself later that day, no issues with the engine.

Should we post where to find classic trucks and SUVs?

I've been reading Tom Cotter's America's Greatest Road Trip!: Key West to Deadhorse: 9000 Miles Across Backroad USA. Tom's the host of the Barnfinder podcast and the book points out a couple of interesting finds during the trip including one guy that had 1000's of vintage tractors and another...

What does "Truck Culture" mean to you?

Primarily a daily driver, thats capable of dump runs, transporting my mountain bike, picking up a load of mulch, or a new tool cab from Harbor Freight. Long term plan is a post retirement Overland rig. I try not to pass judgment on how someone else uses their truck, but draw the line with the...

    3rd Gen Engine Failures

I'm guessing that many of these powertrains are part of global platforms. CAFE is part of the equation but so is meeting emission and milage requirements in other markets.

    GM Seats

I ran back to back 700 mile runs in my AT4 a couple of weeks ago and had no issues with the seats. But I also prefer a firm office chair to a plush one.

    Interesting article

The problem with "everyone wants" is that its subjective. I get far more use from the large screen on the infotainment than I do the sunroof I have on my truck.

I cleared the code with the Banks iDash. It's possible that the dealer might still be able to pull it up, but as I don't have a CEL I don't see an immediate need for the TSB. That may change if the update proves to increse time between regens.

It's Saturday and I'm at the dealership for the complimentary oil change. I brought up the TSB, but the Service Advisor told me since I'm not currently throwing any codes, they normally would not perform the TSB. He told me I could bring my truck back in during the week if I wanted it checked...

I'm not throwing any codes at the moment but I did have a P2297 a while back. The CEL I got at the same time cleared itself and the dealer told me they didn't have a TSB for P2297, so I should just ignore it. That was a couple of months ago and i haven't gotten any more CEL's, so I haven't...

    3rd Gen Engine Failures

Isn't GM blaming 6.2L failures on improperly cleaned blocks? I don't see what they gain by blaming an engineering issue on manufacturing.

    First long distance run.

Drove from NC to NJ and back over the Memorial Day weekend to visit family. This was the first long distance highway run for me in my AT4 3.0L. About 670 miles each way, averaged 30 mpg. Filled the tank before I left NC, didn't need to refuel until i reached my destination in NJ, and still had...

Thoughts on over the air updates

To my understanding the vehicle thefts are primarily due to the ease with which criminals can scan and duplicate the key fob code, which is why I keep mine in Farady pouches. This is a separate issue from OTA updates. I haven't read of any successful hacks on OTA updates, but may have missed...
