The truth about 2024 Tacoma transmissions failing

So I guess circling back to the title of this thread "the truth" is there is a problem, Toyota possibly has found/verified the issue and has issued a TSB. Hopefully it's not very widespread and people won't be affected. Good luck Ben, I advise printing the TSB and presenting it to the dealer...

Canyon flickering headlights ends up in a recall/stop delivery

(Sierra not Canyon) I had two of my headlights replaced, one headlight twice, because the LED surround would appear dimmer and slightly purple'ish instead of bright white but you could only tell in a reflection of a vehicle in front of me. Looking at them with the naked eye you couldn't really...

The truth about 2024 Tacoma transmissions failing

It's pretty disappointing to see them go with a TSB, personal experience with Toyota Dealerships and TSB isn't great. We, TacomaWorld, use to keep lists of Toyota dealerships that were good to work with when it came to TSB's because many of them were terrible.

    Chinese midsize truck - BYD

I watched one video where Andre said it drove pretty bad, ride wise, and a lot of it does look like a straght rip-off. It is much better than what China use to put out... one of the better Top Gear or Grand Tour shows was making fun of chinese cars.

    Recalls and reliability

I use to say I don't really think you can go wrong, and I still mostly believe that but I also wouldn't own a Tundra or one of the new RAM's yet. For me, I need to see the new engine in the RAM for a little while before jumping in. I personally feel the most reliable today is one of the GM's. If...

    RAM/Jeep 1.2 million vehicles recalled

He bought his F-150 at the same time that they bought his wife a platinum explorer. They both have had a couple different recalls that were minor but take time of course and several different issues needing repair. He's just tired of going to the dealership. He's a general contractor so every...

    RAM/Jeep 1.2 million vehicles recalled

He told me he's going to see what they'll do on a diesel and if they won't move at all he'll potentially go gas for a little savings as he doesn't do a ton of heavy towing. He's a little torn between an AT4, /X or Denali.

    RAM/Jeep 1.2 million vehicles recalled

GM has definitely had their turn at this, just not lately..or yet. However, my dad who is a lifelong Ford fan just took his 21 or 22 F150 down to the dealership and forced them to buy it back from him. He's getting a 3/4 ton GMC or Chevy...and we don't talk about trucks.

    RAM/Jeep 1.2 million vehicles recalled

It seems like these are software issues, hopefully they can be fixed easily. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/ram-1500s-jeep-wranglers-jeep-gladiators-among-1-2-million-vehicles-recalled-check-car-recalls-here/ar-AA1qfpNX?ocid=windirect&cvid=760a5a63a8ab42e2aabb9f0466f2af38&ei=17...

    2025 Nissan Armada Pro4x

I was going to say it's pretty easy to be the most reliable when nothing has changed in 15 years. They better have gotten it right by then.

    Super Bowl Predictions

I'd like to see the Lions and the Bills in the Superbowl. I'm going to be happy with either of them winning. That's assuming the Seahawks don't get there.

    But turbo engines don't fail!

Honest question, why do feel like people are shitting on a parade? Because they don't like the idea of small displacement turbos in a truck?

    But turbo engines don't fail!

I know you're asking Tim so I can't elaborate on the email he's referencing but as a general rule of thumb as clearences have gotten tighter and recommended oils thinner cases of oil consumption have been up among all the manufacturers. I add a quart between every oil change. Looking around on...

Props to the TFL crew on this video

I've been consuming less and less TFL over the last several months but decided to give this one a shot and I was impressed. It's a great video getting into basic do's and don'ts and details about off-road trail recovery. They said they're going to be making more content with this guy...

    Tim's Tacoma Review

That's true, but keep in mind, you can negotiate MSRP at other manufacturer dealerships too...The non-halo GM twins are also seeing good discounts. I think Ford/GM really closed the gap on the 3 items you listed and it's not as clear cut as it used to be: initial price, capability and resale...

    But turbo engines don't fail!

I think every engine has it's thing that could be an issue. Unfortunately, we'll never really know about how widespread an issue in a specific engine really is unless there's a recall. A solid example is the 5.3 and 6.2 from GM. I think I've ready nearly every deep dive article and theory on the...

Will the 24 Tundra fall under the recall???

All good points and we have a right to be wary from a consumer's standpoint. I don't know how honest they're being. I feel like one of the worst things they could do from a PR perspective is tell everyone what the problem was, say they fixed it, and then recall more trucks. However, there does...
