New air filter from Rock Auto

Just got a new air filter from Rock Auto for my 2022 Tahoe.
It arrived with invoice and air cleaner box soaked with an oily liquid that smells like old perfume.

Any ideas? Is there any type liquid in the heavy duty factory GM air filter that has liquid that could leak and soak the box from inside out?

Was it a pre-oiled filter like a k&n? If so every study I've seen says that pre-oiled filters like those actually do worse at trapping fine particles than a standard paper filter.
