I've lost a lot of respect for Ford in the last five or so years. I never liked the "starting at $30K" or any like phrase as those vehicles priced at the starting price didn't exist because they were way stripped down to laughable levels thus no one would want to buy it at that price even. Starting at is the first scam. For a company who set the annual sales records for pickups for more years than McDonalds has sold burgers The Lightning was a huge failure. If you towed even a BBQ smoker it cut miles in half before needing a charge. That's a spectacular fail for a truck leader. Finally, Ford hasn't really done anything in the EV realm of note. For instance, Lucid, who may well be heading to bankruptcy at least actually achieved 700 mile range with some really sophisticated electric motors and batteries. Ford? Zero on electric motors and batteries...they have nothing to brag about. Plus, their adoption of over half the engines produced being turbo charged is heading down the path of less long-term reliability even if these vehicles are not EV. I'd buy a Ford still will a V8 if they had kept prices grounded, but like their running mates (Stellantis and GM) they increased MSRP pricing over and above what was already unprecedented inflation. Like I say I've lost respect for Ford. I am hoping they prove me wrong.
